We had another busy day today - with 5 hours at the local hospital taking some our children for check ups....and then collecting our 8th child....Bruno.

Bruno is about 3 years old (probably more like 4) and was found alone on the streets 10 days ago. He was taken to a police station but unfortunately they kept him there for 10 days...presumably sleeping in a cell with all the criminals?

The police walked the streets with him for the past week to see if he recognised anywhere as home - or to see if anyone recognised him - but no one did and so we have brought him to Forever Angels.

He is a smiley little boy and has already befriended Yohana.....I think they will soon become 'the terrible twosome' as mischief is twinkling in their little eyes already!

Our new volunteers are settling in very well and the children love them. It is lovely for our babies to get lots of one to one attention.

Chloe and I have had a busy few days and today we collected our 7th child - Haji. Haji is 8 months old but is severely malnourished and only weighs 5kg. His Mother died 3 months ago and his father is too sick to care for him.

We have also been racing around trying to get police abandonment certificates for our 2 baby girls so that they will be ready for adoption as soon as familes are identified.

We received more DHL packages this week so have also been busy unpacking and sorting out the cupboards.

All our children are happy and healthy which is great!

Well Ben has developed this website diary for me so that I can 'supposedly' update the website quickly myself with any relevant Baby Home news....and this is my first lesson so we will see how it goes!

Today was a busy day at Forever Angels Baby Home as we took Sarah, Yunisi, Pascal and Asha for their DPT and polio vaccinations and to be weighed at the local Aga Khan Clinic. It seems that they have all put on enormous amounts of weight which is wonderful news.

Then we received 3 DHL packages from the UK with wonderful donations of nappies, clothes, toys and even pushchairs - so Chloe and I had fun unpacking them and sorting out our store room....thank you to everyone who contributed.

We have got 2 new volunteers arriving at the weekend. Julia and Gwilym plan to stay at the Baby Home for 6 months which will be excellent.

Today we had no water at the Baby Home as some major pipes are being fixed in town (of course we were not notified of this!) But for the first time in about 4 months - we had electricity in the day time!

Due to current drought in Tanzania, the water levels in Lake Victoria have dropped so much that the Hydro Power is not able to provide Northern Tanzania with enough power. Since May we have only had power during the night and none during the daytime. Today though (apparently because a Government Official is in town?) we had electricity all day so the children were all incredibly excited and were listening to music and dancing all day!

We've just been informed however, that from next week, Mwanza will be without power 24 hours a day for an indefinite period.....we need to dig out the candles!
